Research and Innovation Foundation announces new funding programmes for innovation

The new European and national funding opportunities available to enterprises carrying out research and innovation activities where presented on June 26th 2019,  at Filoxenia Conference Center during the event “How to finance your innovation! “. The event was organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation in collaboration with the European Commission, the European Commission Representation in Cyprus, the Enterprise Europe Network, and the Directorate General for European Programmes, Coordination and Development.

More precisely, the Research and Innovation Foundation, following the recent uptake of its expanded role as the executive arm of the new National Governance System for Research and Innovation, announced three new funding programmes supporting innovation activity in enterprises. The Programmes were announced under the existing RESTART 2016-2020 framework Programme of the Foundation.

The attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about the enhanced European innovation council (EIC) pilot that aims to support top-class innovators, startups, small companies and researchers with bright ideas that are radically different form existing products, services, or business models, are highly risky and have the potential to scale up internationally.

During the presentation, Europe’s outstanding performance in science and research was highlighted. There was also a discussion on national level, since Cyprus is a country with significant potential in research and innovation a fact demonstrated through the fast-expanding community of scientific excellence, strongly interconnected to the international research arena.
