Maloc- Chief Scientist Visits Malloc: Exploring Innovation in Mobile Security

This week, as Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation, and Technology, I had the pleasure of visiting Malloc, an innovative company at the forefront of mobile security and privacy. Meeting with their CEO, Maria Terzi, and the dedicated team was inspiring as they demonstrated their cutting-edge solutions.

Malloc is a pioneering company founded by three exceptionally talented women researchers, Maria Terzi, Artemis Kontou, and Liza Charalambous, who develop innovative solutions to address critical challenges in the cybersecurity space. The Research Innovation Foundation (RIF) provided initial resources and support, helping Malloc transform their ideas into reality.

The company achieved a significant milestone by securing funding from Y-Combinator, one of the world’s most prestigious startup accelerators. This not only provided crucial capital but also connected them to a vast network of industry experts and resources.

During my visit, Ms Terzi explained how Malloc is seeking to bridge the gap between solutions offering infusion detection and prevention systems for the niche providers who provide extrusion detection systems. She provided a demo showcasing the new product where a library can be added for applications to detect data or user heuristics information, thus providing ultimate security control for every user to safeguard their data.

What particularly excited me was Malloc’s forward-thinking vision and their use of advanced technologies like AI and machine learning to strengthen security measures. Their commitment to user security and their innovative approach to mobile security technologies perfectly align with Cyprus’ goal of becoming a global leader in research and technology.

Thank you, Malloc, for the engaging discussions and your warm hospitality.
